Texans are worried about losing land to Trump’s border wall

Their political affiliations may differ, but many of the ranchers along the Rio Grande are angry about the same thing — they don’t want to lose their land to the federal government.

“This isn’t about Republicans or Democrats,” said Rusty Monsees, who owns 21 acres steps from the river. “We’re Texans.”

Although he supports President Trump’s proposed border wall, he says he is worried about being forced to sell his land cheap in order to accommodate the new barrier.

He is one of thousands of landowners who are gearing up for a legal battle along the 138 meandering miles of the Rio Grande as US Customs and Border Patrol begins the “Border Infrastructure Project” to survey lands needed for a border wall.

Elizabeth Warren calls for Trump’s Impeachment

At least one presidential candidate has the patriotic integrity to call for Trump’s impeachment:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., became the first major Democratic 2020 presidential candidate to call for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump after the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report this week.

The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty. That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States.

Trump Primary Challenger: He is a “One-man Crime Wave”

Weld is going to be a problem for Trump:

President Trump‘s first GOP primary challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld, is calling the president a “one-man crime wave” a day after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller‘s report on Russia’s election meddling.

Mueller’s redacted report, which was released Thursday, found no conspiracy between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Moscow, but listed several “episodes” of possible obstruction of justice, including Trump ordering subordinates to shutdown or stymie the special counsel’s office.

“This man is a one-man crime wave,” Weld said in an interview with MSNBC that aired Friday. “He instructed senior legal officials, senior national security, senior intelligence officials to lie, he actively sought out and suborned perjury. That is obstruction of justice.”

Mueller report: Donald Trump failed us as commander in chief

The fact that Trump refuses to acknowledge that Russia interfered in the 2016 election tells you everything. We don’t need the Mueller Report to tell us (or not tell us) that Trump is a traitor. His own actions speak for themselves:

The President of the United States, like all elected officials and public servants, swears to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies. But there is one responsibility the president must bear alone, and that is the obligation to act as the commander in chief, the guardian of our national security and the defender of our nation from malevolent foreign powers. The Mueller report makes clear that Donald Trump has failed miserably in this sacred obligation, and instead has traded his constitutional duty for his own safety.

We need other Republicans in Congress to do their duties and denounce Trump:

Sen. Mitt Romney, a regular sparring partner of President Donald Trump, came out as strongly as any Republican against the president’s actions highlighted in the Mueller report on Friday.

“I am sickened at the extent and pervasiveness of dishonesty and misdirection by individuals in the highest office of the land, including the President,” Romney, Utah’s junior senator, said in a release. “I am also appalled that, among other things, fellow citizens working in a campaign for president welcomed help from Russia — including information that had been illegally obtained; that none of them acted to inform American law enforcement; and that the campaign chairman was actively promoting Russian interests in Ukraine.”

President Donald Trump appears intent on fueling calls for impeachment with unhinged statements calling some who worked with Special Counsel Robert Mueller as possible “traitors” and promising to “turn the tables” and to “bring them to justice”. While the President could simply relish the lack of findings of any criminal conduct, he has again adopted disturbing rhetoric that is reminiscent more of authoritarian regimes than American administrations.
